Club News
The Sugarcreek Rotary Club will be moving to a new home!
Sad news was given to us regarding Dutch Valley Restaurant would not be able to provide efficient meeting spaces for our club meetings. We would not be able to host speakers or have a podium, speaker, or presentation screen.
Speaking to the club members at our meeting on Tuesday, July 13th, we voted to move forward with a club meeting space that will allow us to use the proper technology needed for guest speakers and presentations.
We discussed using the Belden Community Center on the left hand side. Dr. Millet was present and we discussed this opportunity. Drexel Weber II is the middle school coach for wrestling and there would be a conflict of space once Wrestling has started. Sally Eckert suggested we reach out to our local churches to see if they can help us.
I reached out to Earl Rogers, pastor of the United Church of Christ on Main Street in Sugarcreek. Pastor Rogers and his leaders welcomes the Sugarcreek Rotary Club with open arms. We have a new home!
We be at our new home on Tuesday, August 3rd when we have our first speaker for the Fall season.
The doors will be open for us starting at 5:30pm. If we need to get into the space sooner, we will need to let Earl know so that he can unlock the doors.
We will need to find a caterer or possibly work as a club to have meals prepared for our meetings. We will discuss this further at our meeting on Tuesday, July 20th.
